The ability to have larger, thinner, flexible touch screens may make designing in-store display interesting — possibly bringing the internet to the retailer floor and creating a new shopper experience.
I can envision a large column in center store with interactive internet buttons. The column would display marketing message from brands and retailer. The "buttons" would be extra large and encourage shoppers to "play." Buttons could lead the shopper to more information about product, sweepstakes, shopper rewards, brand messages, etc.— all coming direct from brand website or retailer website or a combination of the two sites. Useful user information could be obtained and tracked by brand and retailer.
This type of "kiosks" would not be for ordering but for information… See It, Feel It — only from the Retail Store… shoppers getting the information for comparable shopping in a fun interactive way, immediately at point of purchase. This would encourage the manufacturer and the traditional retail to work together… encourage traffic into stores and maybe encourage retail purchase when consumer are doing comparable shopping… tracking and getting to know shopper habits at point of sales — what is not to love about this!
WOW! Let’s put a team together and do this as soon as the technology is ready!!!
How would you use this new technology?
